I’m so excited that this episode was released from the petit apartment I usually stay in when in Paris! Ouuuuiiiii! I have escaped Melbourne and headed to my happy place, but before my departure a week earlier, I chatted to my dear friend, author, performer, tap dancer and long time Cannes Film Festival journalist Ruby Boukabou.

2025 is the 78th festival in Cannes where Ruby and I will meet up in May, but even though this is my second time attending the festival, I needed this chat with Ruby to explain many of the details of the festival including the types of awards and some of the stuff we can look forward to both in Cannes and coming up in Paris. It was wonderful to reminisce about the fun of Cannes and the South of France in previous times too! What’s not to love about memories of beach club days in Nice, hanging out in the old town of Cannes or even the time we snagged tix to strut the red carpet with French movie royalty! Provence is such a magical French region so I’m very much looking forward to being back there.

Since my chat with Ruby, the movie selections have been announced for the Cannes Film Festival and we know now that there will be a couple of A-listers in Cannes this year with Scarlet Johansson, Josh O’Connor and Paul Mescal set to strut the red carpet.

Competing for the main award, the Palm d’Or Is director Wes Anderson’s star studded film “The Phoenician Scheme” which Scarlet Johansson is in and she is also attending as a director this year with her debut movie “Eleanor the Great”.
